Indiana ASAP, Inc promotes the mutual interest of substance abuse prevention and treatment programs in the state of Indiana and strives to find a mechanism for the expression of common concerns to public policy makers and payers of substance abuse and addictions.
Though a newly formed Association, Indiana ASAP jumped right into the Legislative scene. In the legislative session that recently ended, Indiana ASAP followed the Addiction related bills, including HB 1172, which touched on Addiction Licensure in Indiana; HB 1339, which discussed the economic impact of Addiction treatment on Medicaid; and HB 157, which included an amendment that would put restrictions on Opiate Treatment programs that would result in barriers to treatment services for persons participating in the programs. Indiana ASAP worked in collaboration with Mental Health America of Indiana and the Indiana Addiction Issues Coalition throughout the legislative session and looks forward to working with these organizations on future legislative initiatives.
