2017 ICAADA Conference and Awards Luncheon: Advancing Recovery

The 2017 Annual ICAADA Conference and Awards Luncheon, Advancing Recovery, will have a special focus on recovery management and the Indiana opioid epidemic. Keynote speakers will be Mark Sanders, internationally acclaimed addiction expert, and Jon Grant, JD, MD, MPH. Workshops topics will include medication assisted recovery, women’s recovery, recovery coaching, criminal justice recovery, faith-based recovery and alternative approaches to recovery. Speakers will include Dennis Greene, Dr Joan Duwve, Dr. Jacqualyn Green, Michael Allen, Dr. Eric Davis, Stephanie Spoolstra, Nate Rush and Stan DeKemper.

Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist Training and Certification

The Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist (MATS) Training and Certification includes a 35 hour distance learning component and a 2.5 day live training (April 19-21) followed by a written MATS Examination (April 21). ICAADA defines a Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist as a practitioner as who has demonstrated their knowledge and skills in the 4 MATS performance domains identified in the MATS Job Task Analysis (JTA)). In order to become MATS certified, a practitioner must possess a basic familiarity with the entire range of the 4 Performance Domains of a Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist:

HIV/AIDS and STD Education & Risk Reduction Training for Addiction Professionals

This six (6) hour training is designed to assist addiction professionals in helping their clients identify  “high risk” activities/life styles that may increase the risk of exposure to HIV and/or the risk of transmitting HIV to others.  The goal of this training is to improve the ability of addiction professionals in a variety of settings to support individuals in making behavior changes that will reduce their risk of acquiring and/or transmitting HIV as well as other health related conditions such as Hepatitis C and other STDs.

Participants completing the training will receive six (6) CEUs from ICAADA .  These CEUs meet  credentialing requirements for addiction professionals.
